If you use an apartment or villa in Théoule for short visits, autumn works may change your usual parking and the final part of the journey home. The announcement concerns specific streets in central Théoule-sur-Mer, not a closure of the whole town.
Which streets and dates are affected?
In its announcement of 9 October 2026, the town hall set out preparatory work for the vallon de l’Autel project: investigation surveys from 12 October, followed by the diversion of underground utilities, section by section, from 19 October. The locations include avenue Charles Dahon, place Général Bertrand and the area by rue Jean-Baptiste Pastor.
Municipal order no.2026-218 of 21 September authorises these works from 12 October 2026 to 26 March 2027, between 08:30 and 16:30. This is the authorised period for investigation and utility diversions, not a guaranteed completion date for the entire project. As at the 9 October review, these stages are still ahead in the announced schedule.
What changes for parking?
For the first week, the order sets a provisional schedule of no-stopping and no-parking areas:
| Date in October 2026 | Location |
|---|---|
| 12 October | Bus space at 1 rue Jean-Baptiste Pastor, spaces by the bakery on avenue Léon Montier and outside Les Roches Roses |
| 13 October | From the spaces outside Les Roches Roses to those in front of the espace culturel, the cultural centre |
| 14 October | From the cultural centre to the pharmacy |
| 15–16 October | From the pharmacy to the first spaces outside Les Voiles, at 1 avenue Charles Dahon |
Spaces are to be released progressively. The order provides for all parking to become available from 17:00 on Friday 16 October for the weekend; the town hall separately confirms that spaces will be cleared for 17–18 October. This does not establish that all spaces will be available on subsequent weekends.
From 19 October to 26 March 2027, parking is prohibited, except for construction and emergency vehicles, throughout place Général Bertrand and avenue Charles Dahon, in the bus space at 1 rue Jean-Baptiste Pastor and in the three spaces outside the bakery. Six spaces on the right of parking Botta are reserved for materials. The order provides for fines and towing at the vehicle owner’s expense.
Will you be able to reach your home?
The town hall says the works will be phased to maintain vehicle and pedestrian circulation and access to homes and shops. One of the two pavements along avenue Charles Dahon is to remain clear.
That does not confirm entry to every garage or unloading outside the door. Before a stay, property viewing or delivery, check the walking route, vehicle route, garage entrance and luggage drop-off separately. For furniture or work at the property, agree arrangements with the contractor and your local contact: pedestrian access does not establish truck access.
The order requires signs at least 48 hours before each phase actually begins and provides for a letter to residents. If you live abroad, agree who checks new town-hall notices, building-manager letters and the signs at your address. Do not assume your usual parking space remains available without checking again.
How should this affect your address comparison?
Compare the works phase with your intended stays and the actual route to the property. The guide to choosing a town and an address explains how to compare parking, arrival with luggage, noise and surroundings for two homes. Public works alone do not establish protection of a particular house against natural risks or prove that its price will rise or fall.
